With Mother’s Day come many loving tributes that millions of people in the US will offer to honor the special moms and mom figures in their lives.
This includes 133 million cards exchanged annually, which according to Hallmark, makes it the third-largest card-sending holiday in the United States.

According to statista.com, in 2022, U.S. consumers planned to spend a total of nearly three billion U.S. dollars on flowers for Mother’s Day!
Sure, flowers and cards are lovely sentiments, but I went straight to the source—real moms—and asked them what they secretly hoped to get this year for Mother’s Day.
Some of their answers might surprise you, and some of them just might have you jumping up and down in agreement.
Here are 10 thoughtful Mother’s Day gifts that mom will love:
- An entire day without any siblings squabbling amongst themselves. (the gift that keeps on giving!)
2. An entire day without having to cook any meals or pick up after the rest of the family.
3. Have the car detailed—this includes washing not only the outside but the inside, too (to remove all the juice boxes, wrappers, toys, clothing, Kleenex, and other paraphernalia that usually clutters Mom’s car). It also includes stains on seats and rugs cleaned, a full vacuum, and a new air freshener for good measure.
4. A mother’s ring or necklace with the birthstones of all the children represented in the jewelry.
5. A recent framed photo of all her children together—smiling is an extra bonus!
6. A visit to a spa for either a full body massage, a facial, a manicure/pedicure, a makeover—or all of the above.
